A nurse practitioner is not a physician and surgeon
California requires us to tell you this plainly, and we would rather you read it here than work it out later.
Una enfermera especializada no es un médico ni cirujano.
A psychiatric nurse practitioner is educated, licensed and certified to evaluate, diagnose, prescribe and manage medication in mental health care, including controlled substances. That is a different training route to medical school and residency. It is not a lesser version of it, and it is the right thing to know before you choose a clinician.
Your clinician
Care at this practice is provided by Shannon Enochs, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, and by any clinician who joins the practice. Care is provided by that person, not by the company: Goldenturas, A Nursing Corporation is the business entity, and a corporation holds no clinical license and practices nothing.
| What it is | Detail |
|---|---|
| License type | Registered Nurse, granted by the State of California |
| Advanced practice | Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the California Board of Registered Nursing |
| Highest academic degree | Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) |
| Board certification | Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) |
| Regulator | California Board of Registered Nursing |
California also permits the title advanced practice registered nurse, which is what the "APRN" in that credential string stands for.
Check the license yourself
You do not need our permission or involvement to do any of this, and we would rather you did it. A practice that tells you how to check its license is telling you the check will come back clean.
